Almost all carrier oils will plump and hydrate the skin helping make skin appear more taught and youthful. The carrier oils listed below are particularly good choices to use in skin-tightening DIYs.

  • Apricot Kernel Oil
    very gentle and nourishing
    full of vitamins A, C, and E, antioxidants that protect the skin from signs of aging and sun damage
    quickly absorbs into skin
  • Evening Primrose Oil
    high levels of essential fatty acids
    this is a powerhouse of an oil– small amounts are often added to other carrier oils to enhance their beneficial effects
  • Grapeseed Oil
    helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks
    helps tighten loose skin
    slightly astringent so it stimulates blood flow
  • Jojoba Oil
    Unlike other oils and butters, the wax structure of jojoba oil is very similar to the natural oils of our skin.

Which carrier oils have you tried? I use jojoba for serums that I make for and apply on my face. From what I've read, it is the least pore clogging, most similar to the oils our skin produces. Now learning about the benefits of all the other types, I'm definitely going to try or mix them up!
